    George Allen Schneider

    December 1, 1925 - February 11, 2013

    George Allen Schneider December 1, 1925 to February 11, 2013 George was born in The Sellwood area of Portland, raised by parents Art & Zora Schneider. George had three children, Georgegene ( G.G.) David and Dale he also had three grandchildren Dominic , Ryan , and Cody with several grandchildren. Proceeded in death by his wife Ruth and daughter Georgegene ( G.G.) Educated at Ardenwald grade school , Milwaukie junior and high School. He left high school after his junior year to join the Army Air Force in 1944; he was a gunner in the bottom turret ,on a B17 and B29. The war ended before he was deployed over seas. Thank God. After he returned he took night classes at Milwaukie high school to get his diploma, He attended one year at Vanport University, but decided his skills lay elsewhere and started driving truck for Consolidated Freightways where he stayed for 39 years. He won the state truck roadeo twice and was the driver of the year for the state of Oregon In 1976 . He was a proud member of the Teamsters union and past President of the retired teamsters group. George was proud member of the Milwaukie Elks for over 40 years and 50 years at the American legion. George was a true giver where he volunteered to help the veterans and the Sunshine division at Christmas time. He also was a community volunteer as a member of the Oak lodge community council George was an avid bowler. If he wasn't home you could find him enjoying his friends company at the Elks or American Legion.. George will always be remembered for his fun stories and dancing and singing with his friends. George will be missed by all that knew him, family and friends alike. We miss you Dad David And Dale, Nic, Ryan and Cody Thanks to Monterey Court for all there care and Kaiser Hospice In Lieu of flowers please send donation to the veterans charity of your choice
