She also was involved on a daily basis with Cherokee Elder Care where she spent time with other elderly people. At one point she was known as the "Domino Queen" at the care center. She truly loved her time spent at the center and they loved her. After Hugel's death while she lived in the Portland area and continued to attend Kingswood Church of Christ. In Oklahoma she was a member of the South College Church of Christ in Taulequah, OK.
